Jailbreaking a car’s navigation system just to change the time

Rasmus Moorats bought a 2014 Renault Latitude and the previous owner asked whether he wanted a “navigation map SD card” with it. They mentioned that the car apparently needs this SD card just to change the time on the clock, but I didn’t really find that believable – not that they were lying to me…
