US electric, gas utility rate requests spike to $4.5B in Q3: PowerLines

Investor-owned gas and electric utilities in the third quarter requested a record $4.5 billion in rate hikes, according to a Wednesday report from PowerLines. Collectively, utilities in the South requested the highest amount, at $2.2 billion.
