Amazon's first smart lock works even with a dead battery

Amazon claims to have solved one of the biggest problems with smart door locks, as the new Ring Smart Lock can be unlocked even when its battery is depleted. All you need to do is turn a wheel, which temporarily supplies the lock with power.
